 ..:: WHO CAN QUALIFY TO BE A BLOOD DONOR ::..

✔ Before you plan to be a Blood Donor then Do a self-exclusion or inclusion or Self Deferral before you will be Cross-examined in a Blood Bank.
Age 18 to 65 years.
✔ Must have a Hemoglobin of more than 12.5 grams/dl but less than 18 grams/dl.
✔ Weight more than 45kgs.
✔ Normal Range of Blood Pressure (120/80) but below 140/90 is an acceptable range with resting Pulse rate of 72 beats/minute if pulse deficit of more than 10 he/she is deferred & referred for evaluation.
✔ Normal body temperature & should not exceed 37.5°C or 99.5°F.
✔ Must not be suffering from cold or flu or any Respiratory infections or similar illness if so will postpone Blood Donation or will be differed for 4 to 7 days till asymptomatic.
✔ Must have a regular & adequate sleep if not can defer till normal sleep cycle is restored & it is a temporary deferral.
✔ The frequency of donations 3months for men & 4 monthly for women.
✔ The Blood Donor shall be free from any skin diseases especially at phlebotomy site & no scar or skin puncture indicative of professional donor or addiction of self-injected narcotics.
✔ The person on Aspirin is deferred for 7days as it affects clotting of blood & has a half-life of 7days.
✔ Must not be fasting for more than 2hours.
